Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?

I got a new coffeemaker for Christmas. It makes excellent coffee and even grinds the beans, which was the feature I’d wanted.

The machine also comes with a clock, and you can program it to make coffee at a set time. Here’s what puzzles me. From the instruction manual:

• Completely clean and dry all parts after every use.
• Always turn coffeemaker off and remove the plug from the electrical outlet before cleaning.

The thing is, when you unplug the machine, the clock’s memory gets erased. So, if you follow the instruction manual, you have to set the clock every time you make a cup of coffee.

Hot damn, that sounds like fun.
