I like the idea, Chet, but I'm in the same boat as you -- no time to put it together now. Still, something to keep in the file for a rainy day...

Geoff,
Here is a business idea for a web site... "The Diet Site". It could be based on common sense. Each Week:

1. Provide a grocery list of food to go out and buy (available in any grocery store)
2. Provide recipes for cooking the food
3. Provide a menu for every meal of the week
4. Provide a list of low impact activities that do NOT involve a gym membership, but do provide variety
5. Provide a schedule involving 2 of those activities a day

Offer a membership for a few bucks a month and let the folks follow the plan. Of course, the site owner would have to set up the calorie/exercise math so that more calories per day were being burned than consumed.

I think most diets fail because the dieter (?) fails to execute a plan. Along with making a ton of money off of the food, Jenny Craig offers a framework to eating; to me that is more important than the food. Regardless of the millions made on the "Next Big Diet", we both know that it all comes down to simple arithmetic.

Like most of my ideas, I am not sure if I have the time to put this together, but it would definitely be beneficial to me, even if it never made a penny. Let me know if you need any web development work on the side.
