Ankle Tattoo Blues: Influence and Vital Stats
In no particular order, artists I hear when I’m working on this song:
- Rush (duh, everything I do reminds me of them; structure and picking pattern - “Limelight”)
- Jane’s Addiction (guitar tone - “Been Caught Stealing” with more reverb)
- Ben Folds (lyrical tone - sort of, but not really)
- The Animals (picking pattern - “House of the Rising Sun” but distorted)
- Marillion (chord progression - “Kayleigh”)
- T-Rex (backing track setting is called Glam Rock and reminds me of “Bang a Gong (Get It On)”)
I don’t know that the song really sounds like any of these artists, but there are elements in it that remind me of each of them. The list will probably grow as we move forward.
Vital stats (assuming I don’t add more parts and/or change the tempo):
- tempo: 120 beats/minute
- playing time: 4:08
