Ankle Tattoo Blues: Guitars
Guitars have been recorded. I tried adding some drum fills to the rhythm track but kept messing things up, so I decided to just go for it. Rehearsed the parts a couple times, then started rolling.
Track #1 Specs
FX: GentWeep (chorus and distortion). Parameter set to 30.
Pan: 30 to left.
Pickup: Bridge.
Track #2 Specs
FX: CompChr2 (compressed chorus, clean). Factory presets.
Pan: 30 to right.
Pickup: Neck (for mellower sound).
Both tracks were recorded without EQ adjustments. First takes. A few small mistakes (it’s hard to stay relaxed when that red light is on, even in your own home) but nothing worth fixing. Tweaked the EQ after recording; I’ll probably play with those some more after I’ve got the keys and vocals done and have a better idea of the overall mix.
My wife gave a listen, said it didn’t suck. She would tell me if it did.
I’m scheduled for vocals this Tuesday and Thursday night. I’d like to get the keyboard parts down before then. I may record those tomorrow assuming I can play them without screwing up and that they sound okay with the guitars. We’ll see…
